Darracott Osgood

Obituary of William T. Darracott, Hanover County, Virginia.

William T. Darracott, of Studley, Hanover County, Va., answered the last roll call on August 13, 1914. He was a member of Sturdivant's Battery of Light Artillery, A. N. V., having enlisted in April, 1862, and was paroled in Hanover County in May, 1865. By industry and economy Comarde Darracott accumulated considerable property. He was a highly respected citizen of his community. He was a brave soldier, and in recognition of his faithful service the Hanover Chapter, U. D. C. awarded him the cross of honor last year. His funeral took place from Immanuel Episcopal Church, Henrico County, August 16, conducted by his pastor, Rev. E. E. Osgood, in the presence of many friends and loved ones.
