Dr. L. H. Hill, who was surgeon of the 53d North Carolina Regiment, writes from Germantown, N. C.: "I wish to invite all old veterans who play the fiddle to join me in an old-time fiddlers' convention during the Reunion in Birmingham, May 16-18; so don't fail to come prepared to contest for the championship of old-time fiddlers. Come prepared to do your best, and then if you don't mind these old Tarheels will show you how they play and put 'the tar on you.'"
