Died, at Point Lookout, on the 22d ult. Chas. A. Lasley, a member of the 48th Va. Regiment. He enlisted in one of the first company's that was raised in Russell county, commanded by Capt. Candler. He was a noted young man for his bravery. His daring has been tested on the many bloody fields of Virginia. We know that our country will feel the loss of such young men as he was, in this her hour of need. He was ever ready for any duty he was called on to perform; and the many battles he was called on to go into, never was known to flinch in the least. We know he will be greatly missed in his regiment and company; but we hope he is now better off than when here. R. C.
