Stanley Mason died at the home of his son, near Granbury, Tex., January 30, 1915, in his eighty-first year. He enlisted in Company A, 18th Georgia Regiment, June 11, 1861, and was in all the great battles fought by his regiment. He was wounded in the battle of Chancellorsville, but soon returned to his regiment, with which he remained until he was captured on the 6th of April, 1865. There were none braver nor more loyal to the South than he. Mr. Mason was a deacon in the Baptist Church and a devout Christian. He is survived by two children, several grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. The average age of the brothers and sisters is eighty years. A good man has gone to his reward.
