Col. Edward C. McDowell, a veteran of the War between the States, is another loss in the membership of the Camp of Confederate Veterans at Seattle, Wash. He was born in Frankfort, Ky., eighty-five years ago, and went to Seattle in 1904. He served in the Confederate army as a lieutenant colonel, and as a captain in the quartermaster corps of the United States army in the Spanish-American War. Colonel McDowell is survived by two sons and three daughters.
