William S. McEwing, of Peoria, Ill. (515 Laura Avenue), wishes to secure the war record of William McEwing, at one time a resident of Charleston, S. C., who served in Confederate cavalry, under General Beauregard; was wounded, captured, and sixteen months in a Northern prison. He had four brothers in the war, one of whom was killed on the Merrimac. The date and place of enlistment, also engagements in which he took part, where wounded and imprisoned, and when discharged, is the information wanted.
