H. H. Stephens, who was of Company I, Seventh Mississipppi Regiment, Byhalia, Mississippi, writes: I notice in the November issue of the Veteran that W. H. Albertson, of Lake Charles, La., wishes information concerning Doug. McIntyre, who enlisted at Holly Springs, Miss., and was captured and caged in "Rock Island" in 1864. Mr. McIntyre went to Texas some eleven or twelve years ago, where he was actively engaged in teaching school. One very cold day in mid-winter a party of gentlemen was out on a lake shooting ducks, and in the midst of their sport the boat capsized and poor Doug was drowned. I can't tell him anything about Bester Coleman or J. A. Barefield, about whom he also inquires.
