Sergt. James C. Mize, who served in Company D, 6th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, from 1861 to 1865, and who made a most excellent and faithful solder, died at his home, in Forest, Scott County, Miss., on the 16th of January, 1915, aged seventy-three years. He was born in Tombigbee County, Ala, removing to Smith County, Miss., when quite a youth, and he enlisted there in 1861. After the was Comrade Mize located in Scott County, Miss., of which county he was twice elected sheriff and once chancery clerk. He was true to every trust. He was a member of Camp 273 at Lake, Miss.
